How much does it cost to go on vacation in Finland?

Rovaniemi, the hometown of Santa Claus and the Northern Lights, is the first place to mind when discussing Finland's tourism industry. Finland, on the other hand, is a captivating tourist destination year-round. It isn't called the Land of a Thousand Lakes for nothing. As a result, we set out to learn how much a vacation in Finland costs and how that varies depending on what time of year you go.

A large portion of Finland is covered in forests due to the country's strong environmental values. There are 35 national parks to visit, UNESCO heritage buildings, medieval fortresses, and the world's northernmost zoo. Visitors can see northern and arctic animals in their natural habitats.

Despite its name, Finland has over 188,000 lakes and roughly the same number of islands. With 230 kilometers of slopes, Levi is Finland's most popular ski resort, and Utsjoki is home to the European Union's only indigenous citizens, the Sami.

Located on the Arctic Circle, the capital of Finnish Lapland, Rovaniemi is the best place to visit Santa Claus.

The world's largest snow castle is in Kemi, Finland. It covers up to 20,000 square kilometers and is rebuilt every year.

Visits to Finland's capital city of Helsinki are also recommended. Suomenlinna is Finland's most immense seaside fortress. Helsinki Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Design Museum, the Open Air Museum, the Seurasaari Zoo, and the Helsinki Zoo, which opened in 1885 and is Finland's oldest zoo, are also popular places to visit in Helsinki.

It's also a good idea to visit the country's northern towns if you want to catch a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis in its full glory. The Northern Lights are best seen in Rovaniemi, Kemi, Levi, and Ivalo cities.

Holidays in Finland aren't affordable, especially if you want to join most of the world's population in celebrating Christmas in Finland.

It costs between 2,100 and 3,000 euros per person to stay in the city of Santa Claus for five or six days during December. All of this was included in the plane ticket price: four-star hotel accommodations, two meals per day, transfers, a visit to Santa with a white beard, and a sleigh ride with either dogs or reindeer.

Also, he charges a few hundred euros for polar-ready clothing and footwear. Your thickest winter coat will be useless at -35 or even -40 degrees Celsius.

For example, the cost of a four-night stay in Helsinki ranges from 350 to 500 euros, depending on the hotel's star rating. You included the airfare, lodging, and breakfast in your package. If you're looking for a three-night stay in a three-star hotel, you'll be able to find deals under $300 per person.

To truly appreciate Finland's breathtaking scenery, plan a tour that includes as many of the country's most beautiful spots as possible. Nature-based lodging, such as cabins in the woods or on a lake; fishing; sightseeing in Helsinki; wood-burning saunas; boating; and cycling; are just some of the options available to help you get the most out of your time in the great outdoors.

All of them are included in a 12-day tour, which costs around 1,700 euros per person.
