Peugeot is now accepting orders for the new Peugeot 408. The new Fastback has a striking design, the most advanced driver assistance systems, and engine technology. To begin, the lion brand offers the new Peugeot 408 with an efficient petrol engine, the 1.2 l PureTech 130 EAT8 with 96 kW (131 hp), and a plug-in hybrid engine from the GT equipment level, the Peugeot 408 HYBRID 225 e-EAT8 with 165 kW. (225 hp). The second hybrid variant, Peugeot 408 HYBRID 180 e-EAT8, will be available in early 2023. (180 hp). The new Peugeot 408 Allure Pack 1.2 l PureTech 130 EAT8 version is available to order now for 38,800 euros.

The new Peugeot 408 is distinguished by bold lines, particularly at the rear, the roof end, the boot lid, and the base of the fenders, which create sharp facets that play with light. The new model will be available in six colors: Obsession Blue with dichroic effects and Titane Gray, as well as Artense Silver and Mother of Pearl White (both exclusive to the Allure & Allure Pack equipment), Elixir Red, and Perla Nera Black.
The Peugeot 408 stands 1.48 meters tall and has a slim and elegant profile. The new Peugeot 408 has a spacious second row with 188 mm of knee room and a length of 4.69 meters based on a long wheelbase of 2.79 meters. The trunk is also significant, with a volume of 536 liters (petrol variant) and 471 liters (hybrid variant) that can be increased to 1,545 liters (petrol variant) with the rear seats folded down.
The latest generation of the Peugeot i-Cockpit is available in the new Peugeot 408. The emphasis is on interior quality and connectivity with cutting-edge technologies to make driving and traveling more intuitive.
The new Peugeot 408 will be available with a full complement of 30 cutting-edge driving assistance systems.
The digital instrument cluster features many individually configurable display modes, including navigation and radio. Drivers have an additional overview with the help of the blind spot assistant (standard from the Allure Pack) and a reversing camera with a 180° view of the surrounding area, 360° view of the surrounding area (optional from the Allure Pack), including the rear parking aid. Vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists are detected day and night, at speeds ranging from 7 km/h to 140 km/h, using the Active Safety Brake Plus with collision warning and automatic emergency braking (standard for hybrid versions, for Combustion variants as standard from Allure Pack). The active lane departure warning system with steering intervention (optional on the Allure Pack, standard on the GT) adds another layer of safety while driving.
The new Peugeot 408 is available two plug-in hybrid engines and one internal combustion engine. The EAT8 eight-speed automatic transmission is available with all engines. A fully electric version will be available in a few months.
The lithium-ion battery in the two plug-in hybrid models has a capacity of 12.4 kWh and a maximum output of 102 kW. There are two charger options: the standard 3.7 kW single-phase on-board charger and the optional 7.4 kW single-phase on-board charger.
The 1.2-liter PureTech petrol engine with 96 kW (131 hp), which meets the latest Euro 6d-ISC-FCM emission regulations, is also available and is combined with the eight-speed EAT8 automatic transmission and an automatic STOP & START system.
