The electric car manufacturer Polestar has confirmed that it will build its electric roadster concept car. The Polestar 6 electric car is expected to come out in 2026. Still, interested customers in active Polestar markets can book a Polestar 6 online starting today.
Because of the enormous response from customers and the media, we decided to make this fantastic roadster, and I am so excited to see this project come to life. Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath says, "The Polestar 6 is the perfect mix of electric power and the joy of fresh air that comes with an open car."
The Polestar O2 electric roadster concept car was shown off in Los Angeles in March. It builds on the design, technology, and environmental goals of the Polestar Precept concept car and shows Polestar's vision for the future of sports cars.
The hardtop convertible electric car will be built on a bonded aluminum platform made just for Polestar. The electric car will be made in-house and use the same high-performance 800-volt electric architecture as the Polestar 5. This includes a dual-motor drivetrain that can produce up to 650 kW (884 hp) and 900 Nm, a speed of 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 250 km/h.
In honor of the launch, 500 numbered units of a special edition called the "Polestar 6 LA Concept edition" will be made in a limited run. The cars get the "Sky" blue color, a bright leather interior, and the original Polestar O2 concept car's 21-inch wheels.
The production of the Polestar O2 means that Polestar will be at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, during 2022 Monterey Car Week in California.
As time goes on, more technical details and specifications will be released. The Polestar 6 electric car launch is expected to happen in 2026. @via Polestar.
