Ford returns to Formula 1 after an absence of more than 20 years. The legendary American automobile manufacturer and Red Bull Powertrains embarked on a long-term strategic relationship to create the next-generation hybrid powertrain that will be utilized in Formula 1 beginning with the 2026 season.
From 2026 until at least 2030, Red Bull Ford Powertrains will supply engine packages to the Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Alpha Tauri teams.

Beginning in 2023, Ford and Red Bull Powertrains will collaborate on developing the engine package required by the new technical regulations. By the 2026 season, they must have a 350 kW electric motor and a combustion engine that runs on 100 percent sustainable fuel.
