The Kia Sorento is one of the most popular midsize SUVs, offering a spacious cabin, a range of powertrain options, and a generous warranty. For 2024, the Sorento gets a major makeover with a new exterior design, a revamped interior, and a new X-Pro trim level that adds more off-road capability and flair. Here’s what you need to know about the 2024 Kia Sorento.
New Exterior Design
The 2024 Kia Sorento features a new front fascia that follows the brand’s Opposites United design philosophy. The grille is larger and more sculpted, with a three-dimensional pattern that varies depending on the trim level. The headlights are also redesigned, with a boomerang-shaped LED signature that resembles the Kia EV6. The hood and bumper are also reshaped, giving the Sorento a more aggressive and dynamic look.
The side profile of the 2024 Sorento is largely unchanged, but new wheel designs are available, ranging from 17 to 20 inches in size. The rear end of the Sorento also gets a subtle update, with new taillights that feature a Starmap graphic that connects the two light bars on each side. The rear bumper and skid plate are also revised, and some models have new exhaust tips.
The 2024 Sorento also offers a new color option called Beige, which joins the existing palette of nine colors. The Sorento also has a new Gravity trim level, which is exclusive to the Korean market for now but may come to the US later. The Gravity trim has a unique grille design, black exterior accents, and 20-inch wheels.
Revamped Interior
The 2024 Kia Sorento also gets a significant upgrade inside, with a new layout and more technology. The most noticeable change is the new dual-screen setup, which consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The screens are seamlessly integrated into the dashboard, creating a sleek and futuristic look. The infotainment system runs on Kia’s latest software, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as other features.
The 2024 Sorento also has a new touch bar below the center screen, which can switch between climate and navigation controls. The touch bar is similar to the one found in the Kia Sportage and the Kia EV6 and adds a touch of sophistication to the cabin. The center console also has a new design, with a rotary gear selector and an electronic parking brake. The steering wheel and the door panels are also updated, and new materials and colors are available, depending on the trim level.
The new Kia Sorento offers three rows of seating, with a capacity of six or seven passengers, depending on whether you opt for the second-row captain’s chairs or the bench seat. The Sorento also offers plenty of cargo space, up to 75.5 cubic feet of room with the second and third rows folded down. The Sorento also has a smart power tailgate, which can open automatically when you stand behind it with the key fob.
