Acura is entering a new era of Precision Crafted Performance with the launch of its first all-electric vehicle, the 2024 Acura ZDX. The ZDX is a mid-size SUV that combines electrified performance, elevated design, and exhilarating power to provide an intuitive, driver-focused experience. The ZDX will also have a high-performance variant, the ZDX Type S, that will deliver an estimated 500 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of under five seconds.
What Makes the ZDX So Special?
The ZDX is not just another electric SUV. It is a vehicle that showcases Acura’s vision for the future of transportation, where technology, design, and performance are seamlessly integrated. Here are some of the features that make the ZDX stand out from the crowd:
- Ultium Platform: The ZDX is built on the Ultium battery platform, a collaboration between General Motors and LG Chem that aims to deliver a range of electric vehicles with lower costs, higher efficiency and greater flexibility. The ZDX will have a 102.0-kWh battery pack that will provide an anticipated range rating of 325 miles for the single-motor configuration and 288 miles for the dual-motor Type S configuration. The battery pack will also support fast charging, allowing the ZDX to regain up to 80% of its charge in about 30 minutes.
- Google Built-In: The ZDX will feature the first integration of Google built-in for Acura, providing a connected and personalized driving experience. The ZDX will have an enhanced version of Google Maps for EV drivers that will optimize route plans for recharging, find charging stations along the route, and estimate charging times required to reach the destination. The ZDX will also feature other intuitive technologies, such as Google Assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a wireless smartphone charger.
- Bang & Olufsen Sound System: The ZDX will offer an immersive audio experience with the Bang & Olufsen sound system, a Danish luxury audio brand that will make its Acura premiere in the 2024 ZDX. The sound system will feature 17 speakers, including a subwoofer, and a total output of 710 watts. The sound system will also have a dynamic mode that will adjust the sound according to the driving mode and speed of the ZDX.
- Precision Cockpit Digital Instrument Cluster and Color Touchscreen: The ZDX will have a high-resolution 11-inch Precision Cockpit digital instrument cluster and an 11.3-inch color touchscreen that will display vital information and controls for the driver. The instrument cluster and the touchscreen can be customized for a more personal connection with the ZDX. The instrument cluster will also have a head-up display that will project key information on the windshield, such as speed, navigation, and driver-assist alerts.
How Does the ZDX Look Like?
The ZDX is a stunning vehicle that draws inspiration from the Acura Precision EV Concept. This concept car was unveiled in 2019 and showcased Acura’s design themes for the electrified era. The ZDX has a sleek and sporty silhouette with a low roofline, a long hood, and a short rear overhang. The ZDX also has a dramatic illuminated evolution of the Diamond Pentagon grille, a signature feature of Acura’s design language. The ZDX will have 22-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and a panoramic sunroof. The ZDX will also have an exclusive Double Apex Blue Pearl paint color to accent its curves and contours.
The ZDX Type S will have some distinctive design elements that will differentiate it from the standard ZDX, such as a blacked-out grille, a rear spoiler, a quad exhaust system, and red brake calipers. The ZDX Type S will also have a unique badge that will signify its high-performance status.
